Obituary of Pearl Tharpe Jimmerson

Mrs. Pearl Tharpe Jimmerson, age 87, of Midland City, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, in Westside Terrace Health Center in Dothan. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Friday, June 27, 2008, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Stephen Murner officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Thursday. Mrs. Jimmerson was born October 13, 1920 to the late Hassie McEllen Pilcher Tharpe and Daniel Green Tharpe. She lived in the Echo Community, then moved to Ozark and to Midland City in 1980. She had resided at Westside Terrace for the past four years. Mrs. Jimmerson was a member of the Ozark First Assembly of God Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Basom Jimmerson, her son, William H. "Bill" Jimmerson, one grandchild, Carla Denise Jimmerson, three sisters, Estelle Strickland, Edna Horne, and Ella German, and one brother, Alvin Tharpe. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, JoAnn and Clarence Strickland of Huntsville, Mary Ellen Smith of Dothan; one special daughter-in-law, Gayle Jimmerson of Midland City; seven grandchildren, Keith Jimmerson, Doug Jimmerson, Angie Tynes, Alan Strickland, Mary Ann Burg, Farrell Smith, and William Smith; nine great grandchildren, Brad Jimmerson, Crystal Crutchfield, Ragan Jimmerson, Blake Jimmerson, Haley Strickland, Abby Strickland, Josh Kolonz, Brandon Smith, and Dylan Smith.
