Obituary of George Arnice Langford

Mr. George Arnice Langford, age 92, of Ozark, died Thursday morning, November 15, 2007, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday, November 17, 2007, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Reverend William Hart officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the Church from 12:30 P. M. Saturday until service time. Mr. Langford was born January 14, 1915 in Dale County to the late John Pitt and Dollie Taylor Langford. He was engaged in farming and worked with Sessions Peanut Company in Enterprise for 25 years until his retirement. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church; a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Grace Peters Langford in 1999. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Maxine and Norman Tharpe, Christine and Jack Byrd, and Willie Jean Langford, all of Ozark; and four grandchildren, Keith Tharpe and wife Regina, Amy Ferry, Karen Clark and husband Barry, Angie Walker and husband Jeff; six great grandchildren, Nick Ferry, Katie Tharpe, Jordan Tharpe, Anna Marsh, McKenzie Ferry, and Ethan Clark; and two sisters, Ara Chancey and Dorothy Wallace, both of Ozark. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Ozark Health and Rehabilitation, and especially the nursing staff on Birch Hall.
