Obituary of Mary Elsie Andrews

Mrs. Mary Elsie Thrower Andrews of Ozark died Thursday, January 5, 2017, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was 94 years old. Funeral services will be 10:30 A. M. Tuesday, January 10, 2017, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Bill Hix officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends in the funeral home in Ozark one hour prior to service time Tuesday morning. Mrs. Andrews was born September 3, 1922 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Oscar Thrower and Zenobia Bottoms Thrower. She was a faithful member of Ozark Baptist Church where she served as church secretary for over thirty-eight years. She enjoyed traveling and shopping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Andrews; and one brother, Charlie Will Thrower. Mrs. Andrews is survived by two nieces and two nephews by marriage, Elsie Smith, Janet Sellers, Clarence Daughtry, and Joe Pat Cox. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ozark Baptist Church Building Fund, 282 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360. Service Information
