Obituary of Arthurine Briggs King

Mrs. Arthurine "Rene" Briggs King, 74, of the Beamon Community of Ozark, died Monday morning, March 6, 2017, at her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. King will be held 11:00 A. M. Friday, March 10, 2017, from St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Ozark with Reverend Frederick Boni officiating. Interment will follow in Skipperville Community Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Thursday evening from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P.M.
Mrs. King was born March 30, 1942 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late McArthur Briggs and Flossie Irene Allen Briggs. She grew up in Troy, Alabama, graduating from the public schools there. In addition to her parents, her husband, Dan H. King, preceded her in death. They lived in Rolla, Missouri until his retirement. She transferred from the J. C. Penney in Rolla to the Dothan store at Wiregrass Commons Mall. Upon retirement, she was the secretary for St. Johns Catholic Church in Ozark for several years.
She leaves behind three loving sons, Michael Carroll King of Alexandria, Virginia, Gregory Lee King and Richard Knox King both of Rolla, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Ann Hughes of Ozark, Alabama; and her beloved companions, Shamrock and C-Cat.
Flowers will be accepted and memorials may be made to Skipperville Community Cemetery, C/O Mrs. Faye Huey, 3489 County Road 50, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
