Obituary of Jimmy L. Danner

Mr. Jimmy Lamar Danner, 71, of Ariton, died Monday morning, March 21, 2016 following an extended battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 24, 2016 from Bethel Assembly of God Church in Ariton with Pastor Jeff Downing officiating. Interment will follow in Ariton Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday.
Mr. Danner was born January 31, 1945 in Ariton, Alabama to the late Reginald Woodrow Danner and Mildred Nadine Paulk Danner. He owned and operated the Dixie Dandy Grocery Store in Ariton for over twenty-five years. He served on the Ariton City Council and also as Mayor. Mr. Danner was a charter member of the Ariton Fire and Rescue. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Danner; and one grandson, Brandon James Pair.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Heather and David Pair of Abbeville, Alabama; one son, Gregory Danner of Montgomery, Alabama; one granddaughter, Emily Pair; the mother of his children, Barbara Danner; one brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Jackie Danner of Ariton.
