Born in Heidelberg Germany on December 5, 1948, Wendy was the Daughter of Mary “Kay” Katherine Chambliss Kovac and Victor Bhodan Kovac while they were stationed there with the Army. Her early love of horses led to many years of Fox Hunting in Minnesota and Florida. She also enjoyed reading, especially to her six children and twelve grandchildren, and cherished her book club of 23 years. Wendy also loved her time at the ocean, playing in the waves, making drip castles, and spending time with her family on the beach. Most notably, Wendy knew and loved God, reading and meditating on His Word every day in the early morning. She served as a Board Member for the Navigators, a leader in Bible Study Fellowship, a Member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Edina and The Chapel at the Beach in Rosemary Beach. Many knew God through Wendy’s love. She was preceded in death by her Parents, younger Sister Robin Mueller and younger Brother Charles Taliaferro Kovac. She is survived by her loving Husband of 46 years, Ralph Edwin Powell II, of Santa Monica Beach, Florida; and six children: Elizabeth “Libby” Powell, Brooklyn, New York; Dr. Ralph “Skip” Edwin Powell III, wife Riley, Edina, Minnesota; Jonathan Edwin Powell, wife Amanda, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Eleanor “Ellyn” Powell Fonoimoana, husband Faamata, Jonesboro, Georgia; David Edwin Powell, Brooklyn, New York; and Emily Powell Sullivan, husband Aaron, Missoula, Montana.
