Obituary of James Huey Alums

Mr. James Huey Alums, a resident of Ariton, died Monday, August 13, 2018, at his home. He was 59 years old. Funeral services will be 3:00 P. M. Thursday, August 16, 2018, from Center Ridge Baptist Church in Ariton with Pastor Randy Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Thursday in the church from 2:00 P.M. until service time. Mr. Alums was born August 29, 1958 in Eufaula, Alabama to the late Thomas Oree Alums and Jimmie Lou Thompson Alums. Mr. Alums was an avid sports fan, especially Alabama football. He enjoyed classic television shows and country music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Alums. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Carroll-Alums of Ariton; one daughter, Candis Hagler Steele (Derek) of Middleburg, Florida; three brothers, Thomas Alums (Lynnell) of Ariton, Harry Alums (Diane) of Hixson, Tennessee, Stacy Alums (Dana) of Ozark; his sister-in-law, Debra Alums of Ariton; two aunts, Mary Andrews of Ozark and Christine and Julius Gassett of Ariton. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to Ariton Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 183, Ariton, Alabama 36311.
