Obituary of Shirley S. Chaney

Mrs. Shirley Chaney, 82, of Ozark, died Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Private services for Mrs. Chaney will be held at a later date. Mrs. Chaney was born July 31, 1936 in Everts, Kentucky to the late James Marion Mefford and Reatha Bowlin Mefford. She moved with her family to Vallejo, California at a young age and lived there until moving to Ozark in 2017. She worked for many years as a teacher’s aide. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Willard Chaney; one daughter, Kimberly Sue Chaney Burgess; and one grandchild, Courtney Burgess. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Lisa Chaney of Enterprise; two grandchildren, Melissa Chaney Webb (David), and Kyle Burgess; four great grandchildren, Cassie Webb, Blake Webb, Austin Webb, and Destiny Duffy; two sisters, Jane Nathnagel and Glenda Saylor.
