Obituary of Eugene Brown

Mr. Eugene Brown, age 73, of the Ewell Community Ozark, died Friday, August 20, 2010, in Noland Hospital of Dothan in Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Monday, August 23, 2010, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home of Ozark with Reverend Byron Bruner and Reverend Tom Skeen officiating. Interment will follow in Ewell Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 P.M. Monday until service time. Mr. Brown was born December 5, 1936 in Dale County to the late Ruben and Lula Willis Brown. He worked as a heavy equipment operator with J. B. Head Construction Company for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie German Brown; one son, Jimmy Brown; two brothers, Herbert Brown and Ruben D. Brown; one step-son, Lewie Grantham, and one nephew, Jerry Brown. Survivors include his fiance, Mary Ann Williams of Troy; one step-son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Merlene Grantham of Ozark; one brother and sister-in-law, William (Bill) and Tommie Brown of Ozark; grandchildren, Karen and David Watson, Billy and Kathy Grantham, Annisa and Billy Gray, all of Ozark, and Teresa and Chris Barnes of Tucson, Arizona; nieces and nephews, Brenda and Ray Shelley, Ritchie and Sybil Brown of Ozark, Buddy and Angie Brown of Ariton, Charles Brown of Ozark, and Greg and Susan Brown of Newton. Eight great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and several great nieces and nephews also survive.
