Mrs. Nina Carmichael King, age 87, of Newton, died Monday morning, March 15, 2010, at her home.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 15, 2010 in Newton City Cemetery with Reverend Joseph Moore and Reverend David Willis officiating. Interment followed with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. King was born February 22, 1923 in Dothan to the late Alto Jackson Carmichael and Ida Truett Carmichael. She lived in Montgomery during her youth through high school, moving to Newton in 1946. She married Claud Jackson King in 1973 following 27 1/2 years of courtship. Mrs. King was a member of the Newton United Methodist Church, a homemaker, and an accomplished china painter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack B. Carmichael.
Survivors include her husband, Claud Jackson King of Newton;
and a special nephew and his wife, Jack Alan and Mary Carmichael of Hixon, Tennessee.
