Obituary of Marie Whigham Outlaw

Mrs. Marie Whigham Outlaw, age 90, of Ozark, died Tuesday morning, September 30, 2008, at her home. Funeral services will be 3:00 P. M. Thursday, October 2, 2008, from Post Oak Baptist Church with Reverend Matthew Wright and Reverend Joe Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 P. M. Thursday until service time. Mrs. Outlaw was born April 17, 1918 in Dale County to the late Ada Ethridge Whigham and Relious Whigham. She was a member of Post Oak Baptist Church. In her earlier years she worked with the Van Heusen Corporation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years, James E. Outlaw, Sr., a grandson, Infant Sellers, and a granddaughter, Charlene Culverhouse. She leaves behind four daughters, Christine Knight and her husband, Charles of Mosheim, Tennessee, Janice Sellers of Hueytown, Alabama, Fronnie Culverhouse and her husband, Charles of Ariton, and Belinda Buckinger and her husband, Mark of Ozark, two sons, Holman Outlaw and his wife, Juanita of Brundidge, and James E. Outlaw, Jr. and his wife, Eleanor of Ozark; two sisters, Edna Griffin of Enterprise and Selma O'Kelly of Florida. Fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Mr. Jeff Johnston, 4789 North Hwy 123, Ariton, Alabama 36311.
