Obituary of Corene Rogers Miller

Mrs. Corene Rogers Miller, age 84, of Ozark, died Thursday, December 13, 2007, at her home. Funeral services will be 1:00 P. M. Sunday, December 16, 2007, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Charles Gann officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Saturday evening. Otherwise the family will be at the home of Karen and Rodney Johnson, 7495 County Road 33 in Skipperville. Mrs. Miller was born November 4, 1923 in Dale County to the late Manuel and Mable Walker Rogers. She worked with the Van Heusen Corporation until her retirement. Mrs. Miller was a member of the Abundant Life Church, a Foster Grandparent with Vivian B. Adams School, and a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and an avid Atlanta Braves fan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Dewey Howard "Jack" Miller, her son, Eugene Miller, one sister, Nellie Casey, and three brothers, Johnny Rogers, Allen Rogers, and Don Rogers. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Gene Barefield of Ozark, Karen and Rodney Johnson of Skipperville, Sherry and Harold Smith of Skipperville; one daughter-in-law, Tania Strickland Miller of Ozark; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mae Opal and Robert Munn of Ozark, Maxine and Johnny Wood of Skipperville; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Billy and Helen Rogers of Ozark, Fred Rogers of Blakely, Georgia; twelve grandchildren, Lori Gobble, Kristi Gatlin, Jena Miller, Kyle Miller, Kenneth Miller, Gina Dukin, Eric Hartzog, Trae Johnson, Brittany Johnson, B. J. Smith, Misty Whitehead, and Josh Smith. Eleven great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
