Obituary of Hilton Peters

Mr. Hilton Peters, age 75, of Ozark, died early Monday evening, December 19, 2005 in Dale Medical Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 21, 2005, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Reverend William Hart, Reverend Wallace Russell, and Reverend Isom Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. His body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time on Wednesday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Tuesday evening. Mr. Peters was born December 14, 1930 in Dale County to the late Ernest R. (Doc) Peters and Oma Beasley Peters. He was engaged in farming his entire life and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a life long member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and had served several terms on the Dale County ASCS Committee. For the past few years he has been very active in the Ozark Senior Citizens Center. A brother, Marlin Peters, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Marie Johnson Peters, Ozark, one daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Burt Hamrick, Ozark, two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Anne Peters, Jimmy and Lynn Peters, Ozark, one sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Harold Marsh, Ozark, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilton and Nell Peters, Vearl and Brenda Peters, Ozark, grandchildren, Tim, Jr., Jamie, Hunter, Leah, Alon Peters, and Charles Gardner, and one great granddaughter, Noel Peters.
