Obituary of Grace McGhee Tyler England

Mrs. England was born February 7, 1935 in Dale County to the late Myrtle Dixon McGhee and Raymond J. McGhee. She lived in Ariton most of her life, and was a past member of Union Presbyterian Church and Holmes Freewill Baptist Church. She worked with the Van Heusen Pajama Factory for several years, and later she worked for 28 years with Judy Bond Manufacturing Company in Ozark as the Supervisor of Inspection and Shipping. A 1952 graduate of Ariton High School, she and her fellow graduates recently celebrated their 50th Reunion. In 1991 she graduated from George C. Wallace Junior College in Dothan, where she maintained a 4.0 average and received a General Accounting Degree. She was recognized in "Who's Who in Junior Colleges", was a member of Thi Beta Lambda Honorary Society, and finished third in the State General Accounting competition in Auburn. Since 1990 Mrs. England was a member of Ariton Baptist Church, where she served as President of the UMU, adult leader in Training Union, and a member of the Birthday Card Ministry. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Owen B. England, and her brother, Dixon McGhee of Ariton. She is survived by one daughter, Karen Milton, Midland City, one son, Ricky Tyler and his wife, Leisha, Ariton, three grandchildren, Pam Hughes and her husband, Brian, Ariton, Dustin Tyler, Ozark, and Brian Milton, Midland City, three great grandchildren, Heath and Hannah Hughes, Ariton, Kayla Milton, Midland City, one brother, Larry McGhee and his wife, Annette, Auburn, a sister-in-law, Linda McGhee, Ariton, a son-in-law, Jackie Milton, Ariton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to Wiregrass Hospice, 1970 East Andrews Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360, or to Ariton Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 27, Ariton, Alabama 36311.
