Mrs. Gaines was a native of the Asbury Community of Dale County where she was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church. She was a retired School Teacher, having taught in several states while following her late Husband Louis Hewitt Gaines career. She was a graduate of Troy Normal School now Troy State University.
