Obituary of Myrl Kingry Rudd

Mrs. Myrl Kingry Rudd, 93, of Ozark, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center. She reared her family with nurturing, care, and spiritual influence. Also, her Christian influence was fine in her neighborhood, church, and community.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P. M. Saturday, January 9, 2016, from Ozark Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Steve King and Reverend Bill Hix officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
Mrs. Rudd was born December 18, 1922 in Cottonwood, Alabama and grew up in Marianna, Florida to the late Arthur Kingry and Eva Caroline Pittman Kingry. On July 14, 1940 she married her late husband, Otha Wilson (O.W.) Rudd. They lived in Dothan until 1945 when they moved to Ozark and opened Rudd Furniture Company. Mrs. Rudd had lived in her home on Edgewood Drive for seventy years and loved to work in her yard keeping it beautiful. She was a member of Ozark Baptist Church since 1945. Mrs. Rudd was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otha Wilson (O.W.) Rudd; one brother, James Kingry; and a nephew, David Mims, Jr.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jim Griggs of Fairhope; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Ann Rudd of Ozark, Michael and Adonna Rudd of Montgomery; one sister, Janis Mims of Dothan; grandchildren, Heidi and Billy Snell of Taylor, Hildy and Mike Conder of Bainbridge, Georgia, Jason and Amanda Rudd of Dothan, Justin Rudd, Ralph Millero of Long Beach, California, Lily and Chad Adams of Loveland, Colorado, Tiffany and Ben Atkinson of Fitzpatrick, Katherine Rudd of Montgomery, Ashton and Nick Wells of Ball Ground, Georgia, Collier Hibbs of Birmingham; great-grandchildren, Brittany Snell, Summer Snell, Houston Snell, Suzanne Snell, Meredith Conder, McKenzie Conder, Michael Conder, Harrison Rudd, Annelise Rudd, Kinley Hardy; one great-great grandchild, William Beason. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, the David Tolleson family, the Riley Joe Andrews family, of Dothan, the Robert Langford family of Navarre, Florida, the Doug Mims family, and the Dave Mims family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ozark Baptist Church, 282 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
