Obituary of J. B. Patrick

Mr. J. B. Patrick, age 75, of Ozark, died Friday, October 23, 2015, in Southeast Alabama Medical Center after an unexpected illness. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Monday, October 26, 2015, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Joe Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 9:30 A. M. until service time.
Mr. Patrick was born August 30, 1940 in Coffee County to the late Bertha Lindsey Patrick and Obie Patrick. He worked with Mr. Curt Head, who was also a very dear friend, for many years before he became employed with the U. S. Department of the Army Civil Service. He worked as a supervisor at Cairns Army Airfield Alert Services until his retirement in 1995. During his employment there, he received many commendations for excellence and professionalism and was highly regarded and respected by his peers.
Mr. Patrick was truly loved by his family and a multitude of friends. He loved spending time fishing with his family and watching Alabama football. He was a very caring, supportive, and loving man who would not only do anything for his family and friends, but for anyone in need. Anyone who knew him can attest to his generosity. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Bertha Lindsey Patrick and Obie Patrick; four brothers, Frank Patrick, Ben Patrick, Walter J. Patrick, David Patrick; one sister, Estelle Deloney; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ilene and Foy Hall; and his very special girl, Callie, his beloved fur baby.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Hall Patrick; daughters, Deborah Jackson (Joey), Liz Helms (Mark); a son, William Patrick; grandchildren, Jeremy Fink (Kylie), Christina Helms, Kadie Patrick, Miranda Lisenby (Nate); one great-grandson, Jackson Fink; brother-in-law, Bobby Hall (Nilsa).
