Obituary of Alice Doretta Walker Wood

Mrs. Alice Doretta Walker Wood, 67, of Enterprise, Alabama, died Saturday, January 3, 2015, at her home. A private family memorial service for Mrs. Wood will be held at a later date. Arrangements will be handled through Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark, Alabama. Mrs. Wood was born April 21, 1947 in Lakeland, Florida to the late Robert Mack Walker and Nettie Louis Layton Walker. She moved to West Palm Beach, Florida where she graduated from Twin Lakes High School. She worked as a secretary in the mortgage industry until her retirement. After the death of her husband and her daughter she moved to Enterprise, Alabama. She was a woman of faith who was at home with her Bible. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Mrs. Wood was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, COL (Retired) Sidney C. Wood; and one daughter, Kimberly Lynn Locke. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Ruben Guia of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; one sister, Barbara Ann LeMieux of Enterprise; five grandchildren, Tyler Hash, Dylan Hash, Brian Hash, Ryan Guia, and Andrew Guia.
