Cheryl Leatherwood posted a condolence

My mother, Kathleen Leatherwood, was upset that she was not able to attend the visitation or the funeral. She has not been well herself, but she wanted to make sure that I sent a message to Fran and the rest of the family. She respected and admired "Pat" and was very sad to hear of her death. It is always sad to lose a parent and it seems to me that we all become like small children in our hearts when we lose a parent. May you find joy in the celebration of her life and comfort with God's Grace watching over you.

I can not remember when I did not know and love Pat and John. Pat was a dear growing up and never changed! I have so many fond memories of the house on Daleville Street and our whole gang having fun. Pat had all the gifts...beauty,intellect,leadership,caring and giving. Vann and Charles were first cousins.
Our sympathy...but count your self blessed to have had such an outstanding mother

Frances, Bubba, Jim and Celeste,
Your Mother was the most gracious and lovely lady I ever knew. I always marveled at her smile and the way she always made you feel like you were the only person in her life when she was with you. She could speak to a senator or general as easily as she could a student at Adams school. What an inspiration she was to me and so many others. I am so sorry that I could not attend the services but rest assured I was there in spirit and she will always be in my heart. My deepest sympathy to you all.
