Obituary of June Marie Szymanski Dawkins

Mrs. June Marie Szymanski Dawkins, of Eufaula, passed away at her home in Ariton Tuesday, March 4, 2014. She was 73 years old. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Friday, March 7, 2014, from Elam Baptist Church with Reverend Joe Underwood and Reverend Jim Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Mrs. Dawkins was born April 23, 1940. She had been a long time resident of Albany, GA where she worked for the Boy Scouts of America. After retirement, she moved to Eufaula, AL where she enjoyed herself by reading books and planting flowers. Mrs. Dawkins was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Rhydonia Burke Jones; her father, Joseph Szymanski; two brothers, Joel Szymanski and Jene Szymanski all of Ariton. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, William H. “Bill” Dawkins of Ariton; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammie and Jody Senn of Ariton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Pam Dawkins of Ariton, Tony and Teresa Dawkins of Susan Moore, AL; Tommy and Debbie Dawkins of Anniston; grandchildren, Billy and Jessica Dawkins, Paul and Blair Dawkins, Cari Dawkins Orgeron and her husband, Jeff, Alan and Shannon Dawkins, Rachel Dawkins, Brad and Alicia Dawkins, Seth Senn and Tara Senn; great grandchildren, Hannah Dawkins, Caroline Dawkins, Allie Orgeron, Lacey Orgeron, and Heidi Dawkins; and a special caregiver, Gayle Gafford.
