Mrs. Karen Susan Allen Jones of Ozark, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014, in Dale Medical Center. She was 59 years old. Funeral services will be 3:00 P. M. Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Hill officiating. Her body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Jones at 446 Northwood Drive in Ozark, AL. Mrs. Jones was born in Westville, Virginia on February 15, 1954. She was the daughter of Grace Allen and the late Earnest Allen of Ozark. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was employed for many years and retired from The Ozark Police Department. Mrs. Jones was the first female police officer in the City of Ozark. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Butch Jones of Ozark; her sister, Allison Stevenson of Ozark; and her brother, Marty Allen. She is survived by two daughters, Nicole and Russell Simmons of Skipperville, Christina Jones Brandenburg and Jason Brandenburg of Cottonwood, AL; Two sisters, Patty Powell of Ozark, Cassie and Jim Spanelia of West Virginia; her Mother, Mrs. Grace Allen; six grandchildren, Kole Casey, Slade Simmons, Bryson Brandenburg, Sloan Simmons, Ethan Simmons and Chelsi Jones; two great grandchildren, Bowen Jones and Greer Jones; and a special friend, Debra Hand.
