Obituary of Sharon Elizabeth Segars Murray

Mrs. Sharon Elizabeth Segars Murray, age 56, of Ozark, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013, in Southeast Alabama Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 P. M. Monday, December 2, 2013, from St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church with Reverend Frederick Boni and Deacon John Ross officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3:00 P. M. until 5:00 P. M.
Mrs. Murray was born November 30, 1956 in Mobile, Alabama to the late John Monroe and Sylvia Middlebrooks Segars. She graduated from Carroll High School in 1974 and married Charles Murray August 14, 1974. Mrs. Murray lived in many locations throughout the United States and Germany with her husband while he served in the United States Army. During this time Sharon found great passion in being a mother and raising four beautiful children with pride, dedication, and grace. After Mr. Murray's retirement, the Murray Family made their home in Ozark where Mrs. Murray worked as the office manager at Dr. Brandt's pediatric practice for twenty years. Mrs. Murray was a loving, selfless, kind-hearted wife, mother, and friend. She was compassionate beyond measure and will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infants, Peter, Paul, and Katherine Murray; and her sons, Michael Phillip Murray and Stephen Andrew Murray. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Charles Locke Murray, Jr. of Ozark; daughters and son-in-law, Erin Murray of Atlanta, Georgia and Melanie and Eric Alexander of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; grandson, Bryant Andrew Murray of Ozark; and sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Ron Woods of Ozark; Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Westview Memorial Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 484, Ozark, Alabama 36361.
