Mrs. Velma Tharp Rogers Dickerson, age 86, of Ozark, died Monday, May 27, 2013, at her home.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A. M. Thursday, May 30, 2013, from Hillcrest Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Dennis Tew and Reverend Harry Circle officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P. M.
Mrs. Dickerson was born September 23, 1926 in Dale County to the late William Gus Tharp and Anzilla Hughes Tharp. She worked with Cowikee Mills/Avondale Mills and the Van Heusen Corp. in Ozark until her retirement. She was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church for many years.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Daniels of Ozark;
one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Lois Rogers of Augusta, Georgia.
Four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 2740 Headland Avenue, Dothan, Alabama 36303.
