Mr. Landstrom was a very kind, active, and take charge kinda of gentleman. I've learned so much through talking, sitting, and working with him. I truly enjoyed singing songs and going down memory lane with him. He was truly was a blessing to me and I am heart broken to learn of his passing. I send my condolences to his daughters and family.

My father was Karl's WWII Combat Jeep Driver in the 3rd Bn of the 274th Inf Regiment, 70th Inf Division in France and Germany. My father said Karl was the finest Officer he ever met and finest man he ever met. They became lifelong friends. Karl wrote a memorial to my dad that I read at my dad's funeral. I remember Karl at 99 carrying his own luggage [too old to have wheels] on the way to the airport at a 70th ID reunion. But more important he was the ultimate gentleman and mentally sharp as any young person. He was a GREAT American and war HERO. He was beloved by his soldiers.
