Mrs. Martha Jane Ritchie Lieberman, age 87, of Ozark, died late Thursday, July 26, 2012, in Dale Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Sunday, July 29, 2012, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Pastor Greg Doss and Mr. Ray Shelley officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 P. M. until service time. Mrs. Lieberman was born March 1, 1925 in Early County, Georgia to the late Joseph B. Ritchie and Mae Conner Ritchie. During World War II, Mrs. Lieberman worked in Montgomery as a "Rosie The Riveter". She received her degree in nursing from Columbia University and worked as a registered nurse until her retirement. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alan M. Lieberman; two sisters, Frances Brown and Doris Ritchie; one brother, John Ritchie; and one nephew, Jerry Brown. Survivors include five nieces, Brenda and Ray Shelley of Ozark, Barbara and L. J. Miller of Brinson, GA, Carolyn and Kevin Clancey of Athens, GA, Connie and Bill Barber of Iron City, GA, Sharon and Bruce Phillips of Donalsonville, GA; one nephew, Ritchie and Sybil Brown of Ozark. Nine great nieces, two great nephews, and several great-great nieces and nephews also survive.
