Obituary of Gertrude Pierce Padgett

Mrs. Mattie Gertrude Pierce Padgett, age 84, of Ozark, died Wednesday morning, December 21, 2011, at her home. Funeral services will be 3:00 P. M. Friday, December 23, 2011, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Harry Circle officiating. Interment will follow in Morningview Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1:30 P. M. until service time. Mrs. Padgett was born February 28, 1927 in Talladega, Alabama to the late William Jackson Pierce, Sr. and Minnie Carrie Lacky Pierce. She has made her home in Ozark the past twenty-two years. Mrs. Padgett was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carrie Jo Smith; four sisters, Nancy Louise Stanley, Jeanette Haire, Minnie Rainey, and Selma Whittington; and one brother, William J. Pierce, Jr. Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Marie and Ronald Weeks of Ozark, Brenda Armstrong of Ozark, Betty and Phillip Henderson of Opp, and Faye Barnard of Ariton; one son, Christopher Harrell of Ariton; two sisters, Inez Richardson and Nellie Lara of Clarksdale, MS. Nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive. Service Information
