Reverend Danny Lee Pitts, age 58, of Ozark, died Saturday, October 22, 2011. A memorial service will be held for Reverend Pitts at a later date to be announced through Holman Funeral Home of Ozark. Reverend Pitts was born November 1, 1952 in Camden, Arkansas to the late William Lawson Pitts and Louise Marie Hollis Pitts. Following his graduation from Luther Rice Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia, Reverend Pitts served in churches in Florida and Louisiana. He was the first pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Monroe, Louisiana, and was the founder and president of Open Door Missions in Monroe, Louisiana. Reverend Pitts was active in mission work in The Ukraine, Africa, India, New Mexico, and Arizona. He had lived in Ozark for the past two years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Pitts. Survivors include one daughter, Kerri Pitts of Ozark; two sons and daughters-in-law, Reverend Brian and Tina Pitts of Ozark, Timothy and Anna Pitts of Monroe, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Josh Pitts and Hannah Pitts of Ozark, Ada Claire Pitts and Chloe Pitts of Monroe, Louisiana.
