Obituary of Frankie Pearl Walker Overstreet

Mrs. Frankie Pearl Walker Overstreet, age 95, of Eufaula, went home to be with her Lord Monday, September 19, 2011, at her home in Eufaula. Funeral services will be 3:00 P. M. Thursday, September 22, 2011, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Woody Brown and Reverend Don Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 1:00 P. M. until service time. Mrs. Overstreet was born February 23, 1916 in Pike County to the late James Franklin Walker and Pearla Jane Allen Walker. She had lived in Grady, Eufaula, and Ozark. Mrs. Overstreet was a homemaker and a member of the Union Baptist Church in Clayton. In her earlier years she loved gardening and traveling, and later she has enjoyed Mind Search Books. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Vernon Overstreet; one son, James Vernon Overstreet; and one daughter, Evelyn Francis Wagner. Survivors include her children, Estelle and Alan Louis of Abbeville, Joe and Sara Overstreet of Ozark, Eloise Lewis of Ozark, Shirley and Rodney Faulk of Eufaula. Twenty-six grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Miss Shirley Chancey, 4399 East Andrews Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
