Mrs. Mattie Byrd Smith Andrews, age 83, of Ozark, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, in Noland Hospital in Dothan. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Friday, August 12, 2011, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Brenda Stutz officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Mrs. Andrews was born October 5, 1927 in Ozark to the late Ewell B. and Mattie Bell Walker Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Mrs. Andrews worked with Alabama Soil Conservation Service, retiring following 27 years. She then worked with the Ozark City School System in the cafeteria. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Corbie Lewis Andrews. Survivors include one son, Mark Andrews of Ozark; one sister and brother-in-law, Carrie and Ed Miller of Ozark. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church C/O Miss Shirley Chancey, 4399 East Andrews Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360; or to Ozark-Dale County Humane Society, P.
