Obituary of Eugene Danner

Mr. Eugene "Gene" Danner, age 82, of Ariton, died Saturday, July 30, 2011, at his home following a brief illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, August 2, 2011, from Bethel Assembly of God Church with Pastor Jeff Downing and Reverend Marvin Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Ariton Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mr. Danner's body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time Tuesday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Monday. Mr. Danner was born November 3, 1928 in Barbour County to the late Roy B. Danner and Vera Mae Brown Danner. He had lived in the Rocky Head Community since 1948, where he was engaged in his farming operation continuously since 1951. Mr. Danner was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Ariton and served on The Board of Directors since he was twenty-eight years old. He also served on the Farm Service Association County Committee for nine years. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Maxine Tomlin Danner of Ariton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Pam Danner, Noel and Nancy Danner of Ariton; two grandchildren, Jed Danner and Bailee Danner of Ariton; one sister and brother-in-law, Colleen and Earl Sammons of Ariton; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and JoAnn Danner of Abbeville.
