Mr. James Walter “Jim” Snellgrove, a resident of Ozark, died Saturday, March 23, 2019. He was seventy-one years old.
There are no public services planned at this time for Mr. Snellgrove.
Mr. Snellgrove was born April 18, 1947 at Snellgrove’s Mill in Coffee County, Alabama to the late Stricklin Snellgrove and Mary Kate Johnston Snellgrove. He and his family moved to Ozark in 1955 where they opened the Dairy Delight. Jim was graduated from Carroll High School in Ozark in 1965. He continued the family cattle farming business and later opened the Coffee County Stockyards in New Brockton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Fran Snellgrove Parker; two brothers, Mack Snellgrove and Murray Snellgrove.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Carpenter Snellgrove of Ozark; one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Bob Griggs of Ozark; one son, James Snellgrove and special friend, Rachael Walker of Ozark; four grandchildren, Jake Griggs, Kate Griggs, Walker Snellgrove and Jackson Snellgrove.
