Obituary of Consuelo Horton
Mrs. Consuelo Chavarria Horton, 79, of Ozark, died Monday, July 29, 2019.
A memorial service for Mrs. Horton will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 3, 2019, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Peter Brent officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home in Ozark one hour prior to service time.
Mrs. Horton was born November 14, 1939 in Laredo, Texas to the late Pedro Chavarria and Virginia Padilla Chavarria. She and her family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas when she was thirteen years old. Mrs. Horton met her husband in 1962 and in 1964 they married in Lansing, Michigan. In 1975 they moved to Ozark as he served in the Army and was stationed at Fort Rucker. She and her husband founded Horton Locksmith Company in Ozark. She loved owls and her baby Boston Terrier, Bella. She enjoyed gardening, glass crafts, and watching QVC; her favorite color was purple. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Lawrence Horton; two sisters, Elvira Benavidez and Juliana Garza; and one brother, Manuel Chavarria.
Survivors include one daughter, Virginia Godeke (Robert) of Ozark; one son, Chriswell Horton of Ozark; two grandchildren, Andrew Godeke (Natasha) and Nicholas Godeke (Alicia) of Ozark.
