Obituary of Johnny Ray Baker
Mr. Johnny Ray Baker, a resident of Ariton, died Tuesday, December 17, 2019, in Dale Medical Center. He was 72 years old.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, December 20, 2019, from Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church with Reverend Phil Craddock officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends in the church for one hour prior to service time. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Baker, Danny Faulk, Ben Baker, Jackson Baker, Jordan Andrews, and Dennis Ezell.
Mr. Baker was born April 8, 1947 in Ariton, Alabama to the late Edward Fonzie Baker and Annie Flora Shirah Baker. Johnny was a member of Ariton Baptist Church. He had been a resident of Ozark Health and Rehabilitation for the past forty years. He attended school in Ariton and graduated from Vivian B. Adams School. Johnny loved watching football games. He was a blessing to many and a friend to all. He knew no stranger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Baker and Kenneth Earl Baker; and one sister, Alma Baker Senn.
Survivors include one sister, Mary Baker Faulk of Phenix City; several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Vivian B. Adams School, 2047 Stuart Tarter Road, Ozark, Alabama 36360; or to Evergreen Freewill Baptist Cemetery Fund.
