Obituary of Laroy Rane Henderson

Mr. Laroy Rane Henderson, a resident of Ozark, died Monday, January 6, 2020, in Dale Medical Center. He was sixty-one years old. Funeral services will be held graveside 3:00 P.M. Friday, January 10, 2020, in the Westview Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Ozark with Reverend Dave Walsh officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations directing. The family will receive friends following the service. Laroy “Roy” Henderson was born in Tampa, Florida on February 14, 1958. Roy worked as a diesel mechanic and as an asphalt paving supervisor. He also was a Maintenance Supervisor for Polk County Florida before moving to Ozark, Alabama in 2007. In Ozark he worked as a pilot escort for oversized loads and was also known as the “Oak Man” because he sold oak furniture by the roadside. Roy was a determined, independent individual who stood for what he perceived as right. He loved his family and was extremely loyal to his friends. He was a member of Ariton Baptist Church where he enjoyed worshiping with his church family. Roy was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Henderson of Lakeland, Florida and by his brother, Wade Henderson of Lakeland, Florida. He is survived by his son, Alex Henderson of Jack, Alabama; his Mother, Delois Henderson of Lakeland, Florida; one granddaughter, Mattie Henderson of Jack, Alabama; two uncles, one aunt, and numerous cousins and friends.
