So sorry to hear of Mr. Edgar's passing. Working at Altha School- I often think of back to when I was in school, about the teachers and Mr Edgar, my Principal. He was such a nice man and lived a great life. He touched many lives during his lifetime. Love and prayers for Marcella, David and families!

To the Edgar family: I was sad to see the passing of Jerry. I knew him at Slocomb High School and enjoyed each year he was there and was glad to have him as principal for some of my children. It was easy to see that Jerry was a Christian as well as a fine gentleman. I am praying for God's comfort and peace on the entire family.

Mr. Edgar was my principal at Slocomb Middle/High School. It’s hard to describe the affect he had in my life. He was a Godly man that had a great respect for others. He was an extreme hard worker. It seemed there was never a time that I drove past the school during off hours that he car was not in the parking lot. One time, I needed his recommendation for the Master’s program I was pursuing. He asked me why I wasn’t going into administration and I told him that I was not capable of working as hard as he did. Once, after his retirement, he came by Troy University where I was teaching and he spoke to my class. The lasting comment he wanted to leave with them was, “Remember to do the right thing when no one is looking”. Rest In Peace Mr. Edgar. Thank you for providing such a fine example for others to follow.
