Obituary of Noel Edgar Wilkinson

Mr. Noel Edgar Wilkinson, a resident of Ozark, died Monday, July 27, 2020, in Oakview Manor Nursing Home. He was 88 years old. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, July 30, 2020, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Tim Bates officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. Mr. Wilkinson was born May 15, 1932 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Bennie Wilkinson and Minnie Lenard Wilkinson. He served for ten years in the United States Air Force with tours in Alaska, Greenville, Mississippi, Tripoli, Africa, and Winnemucca, Nevada. Following his military service, he returned to Greenville, Mississippi in 1961 where he worked with Greenville Carpet Mills retiring in 1966 due to a disability. Mr. Wilkinson lived in various places in Mississippi, Florida and Alabama. He moved to Ozark and spent his remaining years as a resident of Oakview Manor Nursing Facility. He enjoyed playing bingo and music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary Frances Swindle Wilkinson; two sisters, Lallie Marie Herring and Eulala Fuqua; three brothers, Buddy Wilkerson, Marrell Wilkerson, and Frank Wilkerson. Survivors include one daughter, Judy Wray of Greenville, Mississippi; two special nieces, Ann Sullivan (Bill) of Ozark and Peggy Clanton (Curtis) of Eupora, Mississippi; two sisters, Vallie Mae Beggs of Leesburg, Florida and Velma Wilson of Pocahontas, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Rosie Wilkerson of Eustis, Florida. Numerous other nieces and nephews also survive.
