Obituary of Lewell Gilbert Austin

Mr. Lewell Austin, a resident of Ozark, died Sunday, September 13, 2020, in Dale Medical Center. He was 66 years old. A private family memorial service for Mr. Austin will be held at a later date. Mr. Austin was born May 4, 1954 in Ozark, Alabama to the late James Gilbert Austin and Mary Martha Veal Austin. He was a graduate of Daleville High School and worked as a welder with Industrial Iron Works based in Millbrook, Alabama. Mr. Austin was a strong-willed man who loved doing what he wanted. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and enjoyed going fishing. Survivors include his daughter, Valarie Austin of Slocomb, Alabama; two sons, Benjamin Barnes (Kathryn Nicole) of Barnes, Wisconsin and James Austin (Jessica) of Augusta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Barnes, James Barnes, Alice Austin and Sophia Austin; two brothers, Lane Austin of Glen Rose, Texas and Phillip Austin (Edna) of Columbia, Georgia.
