Obituary of Willie Morrow

Mr. Willie Morrow, a resident of Ozark, died December 25, 2020, he was 93. Funeral services will be graveside 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 29, 2020, in Westview Memorial Cemetery with the Reverend Eric Fuller officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. Mr. Morrow was born on October 23, 1927 in Conecuh County, Alabama, and was the last surviving sibling of nine. He left high school at 16 to join the Navy and was immediately sent to the Pacific. He was present in Tokyo Bay when the Treaty was signed and when discharged returned to Evergreen, Alabama to finish his high school education. Mr. Morrow and his wife moved to Ozark, Alabama in 1954 where he was the manager of V. J. Elmores 5 & 10 on the square. He was later promoted to District Manager for Elmores and served in this capacity until they closed. Mr. Morrow worked 26 years with Elmores, 5 years with Big B Drugs and 13 years with Walmart all in Ozark. He was a member of the Ozark Baptist Church, Kiwanis Club, Masonic Lodge 349, and served on the boards of the Ozark Housing Authority and the Ozark Rescue Mission. He loved the city of Ozark and will forever be known as "Mr. Willie" to those who knew him. Mr. Morrow was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Betty Cobb Morrow. He is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, William Steve and Karen Morrow of Franklin, Tennessee, Jeffrey Alan and Sherry Morrow of Ozark, Alabama; three grandchildren, Ansleigh Morrow (James) of Charleston, South Carolina, Mary Kate Morrow of New York City and Madison Rivenbark (Stewart) of Dothan, Alabama.
