Obituary of Wanda Faye Saylor

Mrs. Wanda Faye Horn Compton Saylor, a resident of Ozark, Alabama died Wednesday, January 13, 2021. She was 70 years old. Funeral services for Wanda will be announced through Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, Kentucky (270) 769-6341. Local arrangements are entrusted to Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark, Alabama. Wanda was born June 1, 1950, in Hardin County, Kentucky. She was the eldest child of Albert Horn and Cora Smallwood Horn. Wanda was born again into the family of Heaven when she was 15 years old. She spent most of her working life in the service field, taking sweet and tender care of others. She was recognized and well-loved for her delicate attention and kindness. Wanda is a member of Freedom’s Way Church at Franklin Crossroads, Kentucky and will be buried in Freedom’s Way Cemetery. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and one sister. Survivors include her husband of 39 years. She and Bob Saylor were married April 22, 1981. Wanda was the loving mother of three surviving sons, Sheridan Glenn Compton, Franklin Lynn Compton, and R. T. Saylor all of Ozark, Alabama. Wanda is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She has two living brothers, Clyde Horn of Cecilia and Gary Chaffin of East View; and one living sister, Althea Blan all of Hardin County, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Chalkhead Baptist Church, 495 County Road 35, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
