Mr. William Talmadge “Bill” Danford, Jr., a resident of Ashford, formerly living in North Carolina and Ariton, died Monday, July 12, 2021. He was 74 years old. Funeral services for Mr. Danford will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 16, 2021, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Midland City, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Friday from 12:30 P.M. until service time. Mr. Danford was born October 20, 1946 in Ariton, Alabama to the late William Talmadge Danford, Sr. and Esther Mae Middlebrooks Danford. He served proudly in the United States Marines for four years with one tour in Vietnam. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn King Danford; three brothers, Edward Brooks Danford, John David Danford and Albert O’Neal Danford. Survivors include one son, Stanley Fikes (Teresa) of Ashford; grandchildren, William Fikes (Stephanie), Daniel Fikes (Stephanie), Sabrina Adams, Brandon Adams, Joshua Adams and Nicole Adams; thirteen great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert Earl and Lisa Danford of Hamilton; a special friend, Donna Dorrell of Dothan. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
