Mr. James Jacob Wilhelm, a resident of Ozark, died Sunday, August 28, 2022. He was 84 years old. Funeral services with Masonic Rites for Mr. Wilhelm will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 2, 2022 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Thomas Nixon officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home in Ozark from 9:30 A.M. until service time. Serving as pallbearers will be, Joey Bradley, Christopher Bradley, John Scudi, John Michael Scudi, Danny Johnson, Derek Johnson, Jonathan Bradley (honorary) and Pete Kirk (honorary). Mr. Wilhelm was born August 6, 1938 in Mullens, West Virginia to the late David Victor Wilhelm and Alice Sue Porterfield Wilhelm. Mr. Wilhelm joined the United States Army on February 3, 1959 and served for two years. He worked with Fort Rucker Wildlife Association for ten years, owned and operated Y Texaco Service Station in Ozark, worked as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Specialist and Logistics Assistance Representative in Fort Rucker, and worked as a Logistics Assistance Representative in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, South Korea, Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He retired from Civil Service in 2000 after 30 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Betty Jane Wilhelm, Georgia Crist, Launa Thompson, Gloria Jean Stout and Jacqueline Canada; two brothers, David Wilhelm and Ward Wilhelm. He was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Ozark. Survivors include his wife of 57 years (Married September 5, 1965), Barbara Ann Wilhelm of Ozark, AL; two daughters, Lillian Michelle Bradley (Joey) of Dothan, AL and Traci Lynn Scudi (John) of Saint Louis, MO; four grandchildren, Samantha Bradley of Austin, TX, Jonathan Bradley of San Diego, CA, Christopher Bradley of Auburn, AL and John Michael Scudi of Saint Louis, MO; brother-in-law, Danny Johnson of Lewisburg, KY; two sisters, Helen Fuller of Fairdale, WV and Deloris McCoy of Pineville, WV. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He leaves behind his most special and loved best friends, Pete and Wilma Kirk of Itmann, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Attn.; Tribute Department, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105; or to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Donation Processing, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
