Uncle Homer was one of my favorite uncles. My earliest memories of him was when I would 'spend the night' with June and Mavis. June and I were the same age as were Mavis and my sister Charlotte. He was always happy and fun loving and would entertain us. He always welcomed me with a smile when our car needed repairs. The best memory of all was treating Homer and a friend to the best BBQ in Birmingham when they brought the church bus up for repairs. Afterwards we would greet each other with "want to go get some BBQ". He even spent an afternoon on our couch when June and Micky brought him for a visit and of course we enjoyed eating BBQ. Even thought his long life is over and he is rejoicing in heaven today, my memories of my uncle will remain forever in my heart. Gary and I are sending our love and prayers to the family.
