Obituary of Hazel Sessions

Mrs. Hazel Hogg Sessions, a former resident of Ozark, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023. She was 103 years old. Funeral services will be graveside 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 26, 2023, in Westview Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Jason Thrower officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends following the service. Mrs. Sessions was born April 11, 1920 in Covington County, Alabama to the late John Holland Hogg and Lilla Laverne Grantham Hogg. Following high school, she moved to Ozark where she worked with Western Union until they closed. She met and married her late husband Don Fredrick Sessions after moving to Ozark. Mrs. Sessions worked with the Department of Pension and Security with the State of Alabama until her retirement. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Hogg Rawls; and three brothers, Hiram “Bus” Hogg, Hal Hogg and Bill Hogg. Survivors include her step-daughter, Mary Janice Gilmore, four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
