Obituary of Margaret "Peggy" Garrow

Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" Garrow, a resident of Newton, died Saturday morning June 3, 2023 in Dale Medical Center. She was 74 years old. A memorial service for Mrs. Garrow will be held graveside 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 10, 2023, in Newton City Cemetery with Reverend Joey Hudspeth officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mrs. Garrow was born April 25, 1949 in Burlington, Vermont to the late Carl Willard Sheldon and Ida Mae King Whittaker. She lived in San Antonio, Texas and several Air Force bases with her father before moving to Dothan in 1978 where she was employed with the Home Oil Company. She settled in Newton in 2005. Peggy was an avid Alabama fan, enjoyed playing softball and watching television. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Willard Sheldon; her mother, Ida Mae King Whittaker; one sister, Jacquline Welfort; and one brother, David Garrow. She is survived by her step-father, Robert Whittaker; one brother, Carl Garrow (Piedad) of Imuris, Mexico; one nephew, Robert Garrow (Amanda) of Wicksburg; two nieces, Kristen Garrow of North Dakota and Tammy Constable (Phillip) of Kissimmee, Florida.
