Obituary of Charlie Franklin Shiver

Mr. Charlie Franklin “Bill” Shiver, a resident of Hartford, Alabama, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023. He was 80 years old. Funeral services for Mr. Shiver will be graveside 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in Hamilton Crossroads Cemetery with Mr. Scott Shipes officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Flowers will be accepted. Mr. Shiver was born September 17, 1943 in Pike County, Alabama. Mr. Shiver worked at Fort Rucker for various maintenance contractors as a Lead Aircraft Mechanic for over 50 years. He enjoyed gardening, working and NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Shiver; his parents, Woodrow “Shorty” Shiver and Rose Witington Shiver; and his sister, Jeanette Hurd. Survivors include four sons, Scott Shiver of Daleville, Michael Shiver of Perdido Beach, Chuck Shiver of Hartford and Vann Shiver (Wendy) of Ozark; four step-children, Tobb Blackburn, Randy Blackburn (Bonnie), Wendy Shehee (Joe) and Robin Blackburn (Sherry); eleven grandchildren, Taylor Shiver, Sam Shiver, Keenan Shiver, Alex Shiver, Rebekah Shiver, Blayden Shiver, Shelby Blackburn (Jordan), Brittney Hatcher (Colby), Lacey Martina (Brett), Rachel Miller (Colton) and Brooke Blackburn; and two great grandchildren.
