Obituary of Mary Agnes Denton
Mrs. Mary Agnes Szichak Denton, a resident of Ozark, passed away Saturday morning, October 28, 2023. She was 80 years old.
In keeping with the wishes of the family, there are no public services planned for Mrs. Denton. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Denton was born December 29, 1942 in Pocahontas, Virginia to the late Joseph Winston Szichak and Mary Catherine York Szichak. She loved being around people, traveling and driving, riding a motorcycle with her husband, camping and fishing, playing bingo, any type of crafting, sewing, quilting, ceramics, yarn work and reading. She always cooked for a large family, even though there were only three of her immediate family. Mrs. Denton worked as an aircraft electrician for many years; however, she had been ill from a stroke since 2010. She had lived in many places throughout her life: Virginia, Illinois, West Virginia, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Missouri, Louisiana, Georgia, Maryland, California and Alabama. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Frederic Denton; brothers and sisters, Joseph Winston “Sunny” Szichak, Howard Szichak, Frances Urps, Helon Stubbo, Charles Szichak and Benjaman Szichak.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo C. DeKoekkoek; son-in-law, Keith M. DeKoekkoek; grandchildren, Mary Danielle Dunegan and her husband, Calvin A. Dunegan, and Dustin Ryan Havens; brothers and sisters, Srivera Cobb (Sis), Andy Szichak, Patricia Lawson (Trish) and Nick Szichak.
