Obituary of Milton Garlock Kincer
Mr. Milton Garlock “Papa” Kincer, a resident of Ozark, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024. He was 80 years old.
Funeral services for Mr. Kincer will be graveside 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Joey Hudspeth officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mr. Kincer was born January 25, 1944 in Stamford, New York to the late Oscar and Dorothy Mae Garlock Kincer. He attended school through the eighth grade before having to work on a dairy farm for several years. In October of 1961 he married his late wife of 61 years, Marilyn Margaret Keast and served in the United States Navy from 1962 until 1968. Mr. Kincer received his GED and became a plumbing and heating specialist. Several years later he bought and ran his own gas company. In 1981 he moved to Alabama with his wife and two children. He worked as a plumber until he began working with Civil Service at Fort Rucker as a boiler plant operator and later in the Department of Engineering and Housing. Mr. Kincer joined the Alabama National Guard and retired following a combined total of twenty-four years of military service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn Margaret Keast Kincer; and his son, Michael Howard Kincer.
He is survived by one daughter, Michele Burke of Ozark; one grandchild, Ashley Kincer (Cory) of Opelika, and one great grandchild, Madelyn Thomas of Opelika and one sister, Naomi Aldrich (David) of The Villages, Florida.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Gentiva Hospice, Brett, Charissa, and especially Maddie, his favorite.
