Mr. Monroe Ellis Merritt, a resident of Dothan, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024, at his home. He was 79 years old.
In keeping with the wishes of the family, there are no public services planned. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Merritt was born September 17,1944 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Thomas Edwin Merritt and Edna Odell Gossett Merritt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Edwin Merritt, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Anna Weed Merritt of Dothan; two daughters, Kim Blackwell (Ed) of Dothan and Ashley Dickens (Derek) of Ozark; grandchildren, Ashlyn Dunaway (John Nathan), Anna Kate Givens (Dylan), Audrey Roney (Harrison), Addison Blackwell, Charles Blackwell (Tori), Ansley Dickens, Noah Dickens, Lilly Dickens and Hudson Dickens; great grandchildren, Everett Dunaway and Banks Givens.
