Obituary of Dorothy Teal Danner

Mrs. Dorothy Teal Danner, 87, of Elamville, died Sunday, June 11, 2017, in Oakview Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 15, 2017, from Elam Baptist Church with Reverend Kenneth Earles and Reverend Randy Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Thursday in the church from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Mrs. Danner was born November 14, 1929 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Daniel and Bessie Norine Phillips Teal. She was a member of Faith Worship Center in Clio. She taught Sunday School during her entire adult life. Mrs. Danner worked with Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. and with Fruit of The Loom in Brundidge for thirty years until her retirement. She enjoyed making crafts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Elmer Danner; one son, Eddie Danner; one sister, Mary Powell; two brothers and special sisters-in-law, James and Dorothy Teal, Jack and Lanell Teal; one granddaughter, Denise Morrison; a special brother-in-law, Alpheus Powell. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Danner Weston of Panama City, Florida; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Shanda Danner of Dothan, Eugene and Penny Danner of Augusta, Georgia; two grandsons raised as sons, John (Sherry) Danner of Matthews, North Carolina, Dewayne (April) Danner of Skipperville; a special daughter-in-law, Deborah Morrison of Ariton; a special friend and room-mate Mavis Griffin; her extended family at Oakview Manor Nursing Home. Fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews also survive.
