Obituary of Billy Langford Childree

Mr. Billy Langford Childree, 78, of Ozark, died Sunday, June 25, 2017, at his home. A memorial service for Mr. Childree will be held 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 28, 2017, from the Stonebridge Church of God in Ozark with Reverend Floyd Ingram officiating. Mr. Childree was born April 14, 1939 in the Arguta Community of Dale County to the late R. A. Childree and Alice Belle Langford Childree. Mr. Childree served for three years in the United States Army and also served in the United States Army National Guard. He worked as a machinist with Clinton Mills. He was a very involved member of the Stonebridge Church of God in Ozark. Mr. Childree was very active with the Arguta Community Center and was Chairman of the rebuilding committee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Childree. Survivors include his wife of twenty-four years, Mary Lou Plauger Childree; one daughter, Terrie Krause (Pat Little); one son, Ronald Childree all of Ozark; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Nell and Hilson Adkins of Dothan, Sarah and Billy Wayne Bowman of Ozark; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, J. D. Childree, Harold and JoAnn Childree, Don Childree, Larry and Betty Childree; and one grandchild, Jessica Krause. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Dale Medical Center, 126 Hospital Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360. Service Information
